Air travellers’ Christmases are all coming at once this year, with the impending delivery of Etihad Airways’ wholly-bespoke new cabin interiors for the A380 and B787.
Factorydesign was responsible for designing Etihad’s passenger experience and cabin interior elements, making it our biggest project to date.
There are design firsts throughout including, on the A380, The Residence by Etihad™, the commercial airline industry’s most luxurious onboard living space. We also created new and innovative passenger-focused spaces such as the Lobby Lounge and main deck Welcome Area.
The new aircraft are due to take their maiden flight in the coming weeks. The airline industry will be watching with baited breath.
The projects were featured in a recent Financial Times article on airline design. As our creative director Adam White admitted in the article: “It’s not the easiest job being revolutionary on an aeroplane.”
