JIATAI were primarily serving the Chinese market, so they commissioned Factorydesign to help realise their ambition to enhance their product range and make their seat products internationally competitive.  A workshop explored the product specifications and defined the strategy the aim of which is the globalisation of JIATAI’s products.

The JT220B is a regional business class product, incorporating numerous new features and passenger facing benefits, such as, privacy wings and dividers, optimised stowages, even blanket clips.

Together with the complementary economy product the JT220E, both seats feature on the Comac C919 launch aircraft for China Eastern Airlines, flying from Shanghai to Hong Kong.

Jiatai’s growing portfolio of new products have all the features, function and benefits of established international products, and with the extraordinarily high demand for seats and aircraft, it is unlikely to be long before these products start to appear outside their core market of China.
